https://radiarc.bandcamp.com/track/despite Artwork: http://shamanguli.deviantart.com/art/Humming-the-Lights-602025592 Despite everything, there is still happiness to be found. This song was solely inspired by that picture -- I saw it and immediately wanted to work on something. Shamanguli, I'm gonna have to commission you sometime; all of your art is just amazing and gives me all kinds of ideas. As for the song itself, I knew I wanted to make something a bit more sad in tone, but the funny part is that toward the middle, I wanted to break away from that, and I ended up having the violin play a melody which was subconsciously borrowed from my favorite Silent Hill 2 song, Theme of Laura (Reprise), which plays during one of the saddest moments in the game. I made this song both because of the way I've felt and also because of what I know can be on the horizon, or even a few steps away. No matter how bad it gets, there's always the potential for things to turn around. Hope you guys enjoy, because I had a lot of fun with this one. The rubato was a little tricky as always since I bind the tempo to segments on the automation track to change whenever necessary (since I don't play anything I make on keyboard), but it was also really cool having the satisfaction of having it work as intended. I don't know if I'm definitely back on a schedule for music, but whatever happens, I'll keep doing my best. As always, if you like what you hear, please feel free to check out (and maybe even share a link to) my bandcamp: https://radiarc.bandcamp.com/ 9 albums, and EP, plus some cool bonus stuff you won't find on youtube. Also, I finally created a Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/radiarc All of the money donated goes directly back into music! Guys, I'm thankful for all you do to support me, whether it's just clicking on this video or buying what I make, or reading the full description of my uploads! I don't really have anything secret to share this week, so my apologies, but I will say that I've been feeling better as of late, so things are starting to look up. I never get used to it, but it's always nice to feel like I'm getting somewhere, however slowly, and I hope you guys are doing well, too. I do have an idea to share, though! My gf and I love Animal Crossing, and since it's evident we'll be waiting a good long while for the next instalment (thanks, Amiibo Festival), what do you guys think of an album with 24 songs, one for each hour of the day, and each a little over a minute long, in the style of Animal Crossing? It'd be a little while since that last album wore me out, and I'd have to raise funds for decent solo strings since I'm currently working with mostly ensemble and sparse divisi and Animal Crossing features primarily more "intimate" compositions, but is that something any of you guys would like? I'll admit, I did want to keep this secret since I'm not exactly sure of the reception, but I feel like it'd be tons of fun to do since I don't work with upbeat music very often and I'd like to make more things that are better-suited to general background music for drawing and stuff. Regardless, thanks for reading this far, and I hope to see you again soon!
