So we have a new mix series starting today. As the RYM Box Set will be covering the Hardcore side of Electronic very soon we have a guide named Gal Defend. He's the author of the 51 vinyl mix series named: THIS IS WHAT WE CALL ... (acidcore, artcore, breakbeat hardcore, darkcore, deathcore, doomcore, frenchcore, gabber, hardcore, hardcore breakz, industrial hc, newstyle, oldschool techno, speedcore, terrorcore, trancecore, uk hardcore). Whew! He's allowed me to upload the series on youtube so these mixes will be showing up on here shortly beginning with this one. All mixes were recorded with: Reloop Effex 2 mixer and 2x Reloop RP-2000 MK3. We don't have tracklists so apologies there. Feel free to ID tracks IF you know them. Speedcore is a form of hardcore that is characterized by a high tempo and aggressive themes. The genre was created in the early to mid 90s and the name originates from the genre hardcore as well as the high speed tempo used. This music rarely drops below 300 beats per minute (bpm). Earlier speedcore tracks often averaged at / or below about 240 bpm, which could be defined as Terrorcore which falls in the low 200's. Faster than Speedcore is Splittercore which is usually between 600 and 700bpm. Faster then that, where some tracks sometimes exceed 1000 bpm, it then becomes known as Extratone, the world's fastest music genre. I've got a tiny speedcore list but I'm adding to it. https://www.discogs.com/lists/Speedcore/478599 As always check out the http://rymboxset.blogspot.com/ for upcoming sets and our project. Cheers!!
