Thirty-one thousand troops from over 20 countries are taking part in exercise Anakonda in Poland. Anakonda 2016 is the periodic (biannual since 2006) exercise of the Polish Armed Forces with the international participation of Allies and partners. It takes place between 7-17 June 2016 in military training areas across the whole country and international air and sea space of the Baltic Sea. It involves approximately 31,000 troops (including 12,000 from Poland), 3,000 vehicles, 120 aircrafts and 12 ships from 19 Allied countries. This year’s exercise is testing the ability, readiness and interoperability of the Polish Armed Forces with Allies and partners while conducting the joint defensive operation on a large scale. Footage includes Polish army firing several SA-6 “Gainful” mobile surface-to-air missile systems from a beach near Ustka on the north coast of Poland. Troops operating systems belong to the 15th Air Defence Regiment based in Gołdap, Poland.
