This is a piece I wrote for an animation. Wandering through it he reaches a lake where he stares at the moons reflection, feeling completely lost and abandoned. 0:38 Just then Angel, the white rabbit, materializes to lead him out of the forest where he meets "her". 0:55 Pirouette dances through a meadow accompanied by various birds and small critters. Though it is obviously love at first sight, when Pirouette notices him Encore turns in intimidation. Looking around wildly he finds a blue rose patch, plucks one swiftly from the others and turns, face to face with Pirouette. 1:18 Shy as they both were Encore gives the blue rose to Pirouette only to have her pricked by one of the many thorns. Encore hangs his head in contempt for his carelessness, however his spirits and head are lifted as he looks into her gentle and forgiving eyes. They exit the meadow side by side. 1:47 As they spend the day together they fall truly in love. The head over a bridge where they watch a family of ducks swimming underneath. They watch as a small duck who had fell behind eventually catches up with the rest of his family. 2:13 Encore leads Pirouette to a hill in perfect view of Cloudsdale where they wait for something amazing. 2:38 They watch as the rainbow factory release a cauldron of rainbows in the sky, the spectacle exploding into a fantastic array of colors. However, as Pirouette turns to see the expression on Encore's face, she finds that he is more infatuated with her beauty than all the colors of the rainbow. They can't help but nuzzle one another in a heartwarming embrace. 3:08 The day comes to an end as the return to the field they first met. 3:10 Yet, something is wrong. In his blissful state, Encore doesn't notice Pirouette has collapsed. As he turns back, walking to her aide, he passes the blue rose he gave Pirouette earlier that morning. Pirouette has been poisoned and too much time has passed for anything to be done. 3:33 Encore kneels down and cradles Pirouette in his arms. As she looks in his eyes, Pirouette kisses Encore and with a smile on her face, falls listless in his embrace. 3:40 As Encore begins to cry, Pirouette's body starts to shine brightly. Bit by bit, her body is transformed into small crystals of light, each floating away in all directions. 4:00 In a brilliant flash of light, Encore is left holding nothing, in a darkness that seems eternal. 4:17 In a rage, Encore stamps at the earth, water splashing in response. In his grief he collapses on the ground that once carried his love. 4:30 From behind, Princess Luna, guardian of dreams and ruler of the night, stands her miasmic mane almost enveloping Encore. 4:35 He turns, but when he looks Luna in the face, all he can do is hang his head and cry in her bosom. 4:40 Obviously moved and concerned for his sadness, Luna's horn begins to glow. 4:50 With a final blinding flash, Encore awakes in his bed. Gasping for air and covered in sweat, he takes a moment to gauge his surroundings. However, it isn't long before he realizes where he was and leaping out of his bed, he races through his house and out the front door. 5:14 Pirouette stands in the garden watering their plants. Rushing over to her, Encore grasps Pirouette with all his might. Not knowing the cause for his concern, she calmly looks to him for an explanation. But he realizes is doesn't matter, shakes his head and they walk down the road from their house... together. 5:40 Without either of them knowing, a figure watches the two as they walk off in the distance. Princess Luna takes one final glance and vanishes in a wisp magic, begging the question of whether Encore is in a better, happier dream, or his true reality. --------------- Original Composition: Encore Pony Encores Studio, 2014
