Trixie's story is nowhere near complete. Magic Duel didn't even really progress her all that far, in my opinion. More than anything, it simply revealed that yes, she actually has the capacity to apologize for her wrongdoing. Nevermind the fact that she really had nothing to apologize for in Boast Busters. Trixie still seems mortified at the suggestion that someone might actually get to know the version of her that isn't an act, as evidenced by her recession into third person self-reference and her hasty exit at the end. I hope someday, the writers put her into a position where she is forced to get to know somepony, and learns that really, it's not so bad as she's built it up to be in her mind.
