This song represent so much to me about Trixie and my place in the fandom (and perhaps the world as a whole). I took a lot of time to examine the ways in which Trixie is almost a complete outcast in so many ways. She's socially confused, sleeps in a wagon wherever she needs to be, is always in a conflict with her need for attention and validation. "As Strong as Horses" represents the very childlike trust that you are who you say you are, and that the only person who will ever really know you is you — anyone beyond that is someone that you're comfortable enough with to learn about your own self and identity together. It entails that childlike trust that everything will be okay.
