I think, perhaps, it's worth mentioning at this point how potently Tales From Equestria was inspired by The Perfect Pear episode. "Hold on Before I Forget" is easily no exception; The song entails a sort of romantic discussion between Bright Mac and Pear Butter in the beginning, but closes off rather from the perspective of those of the Apple Family who are left, namely Applebloom & Applejack. They repeat the same words, but in a different function - a different tone. It's not that they could necessarily forget their parents, but it would be easy to take for granted the lives they live. It would be easy to forget the way things were, and could've been. This is true for all of us, isn't it?
