With Equestria so far away now, nothing seemed like it could ever be the same.

“I’m so scared..” Kai cried into Stella’s arms. Stella held Kai closely. The world was still as the two of them were caught in a melancholy embrace. “Everything will be okay” Stella reassured her, “we can do this. I know we can”. After a few minutes, Kai slowly stopped crying as her panic attack dissipated. The foregoing moments had been of consequence to Kai — she couldn’t rest her anxious thoughts. Stella continued, “You are my ember, the  re of my heart. If you let me help you, we can get through this together”. Kai looked at her lovers’ eyes; she felt comforted by the gentle confidence that Stella offered. In reality, she was afraid of anything going wrong, really. She could only dwell on the darkest of possibilities. After a while, Kai fell asleep.
