Kai and Stella took time catching up in their new apartment, getting some boxes unpacked, figuring out how to fit the damn bed through the door (or should they have just built it?). They spent an hour or two showing each other some of the spells they were practicing. Kai was well versed in water-oriented magic, while Stella was more of a pyrotechnic herself. Initially, when the two of them had joined Academy, neither of them really knew what they wanted to do with magic — they didn’t even have an attribute of choice in mind. Their years in training, however, had made these preferences more clear to them. Equestria was no place to practice magic if you weren’t a unicorn, but Uniterra was a whole new deal. The only times they had practiced their spells were in secret locations that nobody was supposed to find. Now, in Snowborough, they could draw a crowd with their artistry.

They spent the following day touring the city. Stella spent time showing Kai around all the shops and stores in the central Snowborough district. They went window shopping and sampling the various foods. Like every other day in Snowborough, it snowed."
