Maureen and Joanne have broken up. Benny decides to end the group's long running feud over the rent after talking with Mimi (Rarity). Roger (Twilight Sparkle) learns that Mimi used to have a relationship with Benny. This causes friction between them and coupled with Mimi's refusal to give up her use of heroin, causes Roger to break up with her. At the same time, Collins (Applejack) checks Angel (Rainbow Dash) into the hospital as she gets sicker. Angel eventually dies following complications from AIDS.

In this song, I had to get across two main points. The first is that Roger is sick of Mimi's self destructive behavior ( heroin is represented by Tom the Boulder) and leaves her, although he becomes heartbroken as a result. The second is that Angel is getting weaker over time and eventually dies. Fortunately, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has enough mature moments to allow me to express these concepts well.
