I don't know what I was going for with this, I just started playing Tactics Ogre on the PSP after having played the SNES version, and the jump in visual quality just got me thinking about how much I wish that all those great JRPGs which got remade on the PSP had just been released on console instead, since I would rather play a long-ass RPG on my couch with a comfortable controller, and these games were originally made that way anyways. Then I thought about how that's basically the whole point of the Switch, and here we are. Also just some thought that's stuck in my mind since childhood about how each handheld is basically a slightly better version of the consoles of 2 generations prior got in there. I really truly do not comprehend Nintendo's mindset toward their back catalog. Every so often they randomly dump a handful of the same classic games onto another generation of consoles, and I can't wrap my head around why the ones they did for the previous console aren't just instantly placed available on the next one. Like, I know it's not so easy as just slapping them games on there, but how the fuuuuck are all these Gamecube games selling back and forth on the secondary market and not just being sold on Switch? Copies of Super Smash Bros. Melee are sold back-and-forth constantly at $50, Nintendo could easily go full Squeenix with some of these games and put them up for 20 buck and they'd still sell. But what do I know?
