In a world where your mind is your body, it's a lot easier to break. Notes on the gender pronouns: in the show, everyone uses "boku"--the male form of "I," mostly used by young boys (tho it's not necessarily strange for other genders to use it). They also sometimes use "onii-chan" and "otouto" meaning "little brother" and "big brother." Just a consequence of the Japanese language only really having gendered pronouns--which the English language only really does as well. Using "they/them" is just confusing and makes no sense, we need either a better agreed-upon gender neutral, or just to recognize that none of it actually matters anyways, use whatever the hell you want.
