My review of the tenth episode of the sixth season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Applejack's "Day" Off. While it was kind of a different experience being able to do a more critical review and all, I'd have still rather had a decent episode. Due to my faulty memory of episodes I haven't seen in a while, there were a couple bits I'm kind of unsure about here. For one, I lump Made in Manehattan in with this episode as an example of uninspired Applejack-Rarity interactions, but looking back there actually was some decent interplay there--certainly a lot better than in this episode. For another, with Rainbow's spa scene in Ponyville Confidential, I was going by dialog and the overall impression the scene left with me, but actually watching the animation, it does look like Rainbow does have apprehensions about being touched as well. I still say that it does seem like a part of her legitimately does want to try it though, and that it's just a sudden anxious decision which has her back out that day. Other than that, I'm fairly pleased with this one editing wise and I'm the most satisfied I've ever been with my delivery on the script (though it's quite far from perfect still). Review by me.
