Yes, this is my birthday cover! Today is my birthday and I’m really glad I get to spend part of today with some of my favorite people.

Why did I pick this song for my birthday cover? Well starting last year I’ve been singing a song on my birthday that I think represents me. Last year’s cover was When He Sees Me from Waitress. However, after a lot of character development this year that song isn’t that relevant to me anymore. I’m pretty proud of my growth. But this year Crybaby seems pretty relevant to my personality. And no it’s not JUST because I cry a lot. Psshh that’s just like part of the reason XD

A lot of you who have seen my other Melanie covers requested I do more. This song was highly requested. I hope I did it justice because I had a lot of fun with this one. Especially on those harmonies and fills I threw in there haha!

I’ve loved this song (and this whole album) for a long time now. It’s really helped me through some tough times. Yes, these songs may be really depressing but sometimes you need something real rather than something too happy and unrealistic.

One day I’ll pick a happy song for my birthday. Today is not that day lol.

It’s not just my birthday, it’s America’s birthday too! Have a great 4th of July everyone! :)
