I actually planned out a sequence where the mane6 fight Lavos and Starlight (who is riding around on Lavos, similar to Zeal or Schala). The main highlight would be seeing combo attacks, a la CT double/triple techs, plus some appropriately melodramatic JRPG style dialogue. It was too ambitious and would take a long time, so that was put on the back burner.

Most of the time I have to mull episodes over in my head for bit or play around in an editor before coming up with ideas. But when I saw the sequential lighting of blue torches in a gothic castle I thought of Magus immediately on first viewing.

Not that anyone cares, but I set a personal record for most layers in Sony Vegas with that Lavos attack clip. 135 layers deep, baby.
