So I've actually been wanting to cover this song from The Strokes for probably about 2 years now. I've just never been able to get the proper sound that I wanted with my old equipment I was using back then, so after several failed attempts at trying to record and mix something I was okay with, I ultimately gave up and just waited till I had enough money saved up to get equipment that could do the job. Now, with the countless upgrades I've done to both my Stratocaster and Telecaster, my VOX AC15C tube amplifier, and the pedals I've purchased over the year; I've finally got the right setup for the perfect indie rock sound. So I cranked up the drive on the amp, mic'd it up, and started to record everything one at a time. I'm really fuckin' proud of how this mix turned out, and especially proud my performance playing lead for once. I'm usually garbage with solos, lead guitar, riffs, and all that other stuff; but I'm really happy that I pulled through and actually showed some skill this time. I think I might actually be getting better at guitar, but I'll see what happens in the future. I hope you guys enjoy this one.
