Please watch the video before reading the description. Update 3: Thanks for 50,000 views guys! Update 2: Made a 10 minute tutorial on C4D Typography http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpjl8-Us_ts Update! Behind the Scenes video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OPZonxN9A8 I do update the description every so often. Usually with more design insight or info. As seen in the video Video created by myself (X-90/Lextsy/Dragzeela) Original song by Wooden Toaster Remix by The Living Tombstone Rap and Lyrics by MicTheMicrophone I might do more. With the positive feedback coming from you guys, It's chances are high. However, I'm not sure what song to do next. I'll take a request if need be. Yeah I have no idea what to do next. I scrapped my current idea because projected render time was 5 days. Comments on some ideas, perhaps? This was probably the longest 3D scene I've ever worked on. I brought it upon myself to do it with my free time. I have no idea why I wanted to do it. It might've been because most if not all the typography videos I've seen are done in Adobe After Effects. I wanted to do it a little different, partly because I didn't know how to use After Effects and partly because I could achieve more in 3D as seen at the very end with heavy volumetric lighting, Physics calculation at the beginning and special objects like the spiral. However with 3D comes the render time. See final paragraph. Made entirely in a 3D environment, absolutely no post processing in a video editor. One continuous scene, despite the jerky camera changes. 1920x1080p 30FPS at 6840 total frames. I was actually done creating this at 2:58AM 10/31 (Halloween morning). I started rendering it and it kept failing in some way until now, 4 days later. The final render time was ~17 hours. If my server farm had actually cooperated and not butcher the final product every time, it could've been rendered in 12. Created entirely in Cinema 4D R12. Render machine: Phenom 1090T 6 Core + 16GB Ram. Also, I used Arial because it is the easiest to read. Another reason is that I can't just 'highlight' all the text and switch it to something else. Especially with the way I did it, it's no longer possible to change their fonts in the current state. I do admit that I think 2 lines are in BankGothic LT BT. I can't go back and change them, cause I'm not going to re-render over the course of 17 hours. Although, if I did re-render the entire thing, I would have the chance to fix the other error near the middle/end where the words are too high up and off screen. The camera. If you've noticed, the camera is very active in the very beginning and relaxes as the scene continues. Animating continuous camera movement jacks up the render time by a lot. During the scene where the camera lines the Character shape in words, the camera does this ghastly roll to get a full view of the object. This is because the camera's rotational value was somewhere like 13000, 310, 91085. I reset ALL of the values to zero, causing that tumble. Every frame or so, it spun 700 some degrees, so what YOU saw was a smooth roll out but in the editor, it was just going berzerk. The background. It's black because it saves render time. Adding a background of any kind like a landscape would give the scene a new emotional feel and add probably 5 hours of render time. The random grey appearances near the top/bottom is actually the floor object. It has a grey color but the reflection on it is usually grabbing the blackness. When viewed from a more direct angle, it turns grey. Special thanks to MicTheMicrophone however, for watching my WiP video while livestreaming. The viewers really encouraged me to keep working on, pressing past hardships. I mean, I owe it to them kinda, right? Even after 5 straight days of complete failure, one after another, I kept going to bring you what you see here. Also, this video does not change my stance on the presented pony. In fact, I had never taken notice of this character before the video. My first 'real' look at the character was when I had to grab a picture of her to make the cutout. PS, If you like comedic endings, here's a side note: Staring at these lyrics for a little over a week straight with very little relief, I don't remember any of it!
