So many visual effects, it burns. Update: Thanks for 10K Views! Achieved ~July 18th 2012. Update2: Thanks for 15K Views! Achieved December 1st 2012. As seen in the Video Video constructed and rendered by myself, X-90 (A.K.A. Lextsy / Dragzeela) Song by RudeBrat Performed by TwentyTen (Mic The Microphone and iBringDaLulz) I hope you all enjoy this, I worked on this for 12 days spanning about 2 to 3 weeks. --Technical Info-- Made entirely in a 3D environment (Cinema 4D R12), zero post processing. One large with one camera track. 1920x1080p 30 Frames Per Second at a total of 6800 frames. Render machine: AMD Phenom 1090T 6-core + 16GB RAM. Work began 5/2/2012 at roughly 1PM Work completed 5/17/2012 at 11:20PM Video 100% Rendered at 8:21AM Font is Orator STD Final filesize 6.03GB in Quicktime .mov 3D Scene file size 500MB All physics calculations baked This is the longest I have ever worked on a single 3D scene. Nearly 3 weeks of planning and creating to get this out. The storyboard was never actually finished. After I had gotten the "Wreck the Scene" part done in 3D, I baked the calculations and just went with it. On the storyboard there are blanks for the following 2 verses. Final render time was exactly 6 hours, 16 minutes, and 21 seconds. Render did not fail this time. I began rendering it at 2AM and went straight to sleep. I woke up at 5:20AM to make sure the render did not fail. Luckily, it was still chugging along gingerly. I did some head math and the video would finish at approximately 10AM so I put my face back in my pillow for the remaining hours. I woke up at 9AM anyway and the video was done, my groggy eyes instantly pepped up and I watched the beauty of my work. I always try to upload the video in highest quality. That means suffering a 2 hour upload time for a 4 minute video. I could easily convert the video down to .mp4 with CUDA but I'd rather torture my lines for a few hours and bask in the HD glory forever. ~~~Creator blurb~~~ There were a FEW ideas on the storyboard that were scrapped. When Lulz says "20% Cooler", I wanted to bring back the Officially 20% Cooler emblem from the other video. However, the rhythm/feel of the song at the current time didn't feel appropriate. One idea that was majorly scrapped was feature a full 3D model of a Cadillac Escalade, CTS-V or XLR. I would have done this but I wanted to keep the project within a one month time frame. When Lulz mentions EquestriaDaily, I etched in a side for After Effects post-processing. I was going to add a plane for EQDaily and have it be replaced with the actual website. However, post-processing isn't exactly what I do. I would've spent extra time re-rendering the video in After Effects. You can find examples on my 200 subscriber video. When Lulz says Honda toaster, I was going to bring in a 3D model of the Honda logo. I just never got around to modelling it. When Mic says "The flow" for the first time, I wanted to have a bunch of wavy lines start flowing smoothly, but the sharp visuals of the Friendship cannon would have been too big of a shock. I decided to move this stage setup to another location in the lyrics, but that was scrapped as well. ~~~Extra Fun Stuff~~~ Original song by RudeBrat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2cJG2BThzc Full Obsolete song by TwentyTen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWDC3HJd56I Here's a high-quality render of the Orbital Friendship Cannon in the vid http://fav.me/d4ys05y Here is the title card/movie poster for the song I made, taken right out of the vid but at 4K resolution. http://fav.me/d509dn6 Link to the the lyrics that I modified with a lot more line-splitting. http://pastebin.com/McFdn4ez Thanks for the feature on Equestria Daily! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/05/pmv-obsolete-typography-ariie.html Behind the Scenes coming soon!
