Here it is, after 12 years I'm re-uploading a recording of my absolute favorite demo for the Playstation 2. After a bit of frustration, I was able to produce a video that I'd consider at least okay. Although the demo runs in 480p and higher progressive scan video modes just fine, it produces graphical glitches on the screen, likely due to framebuffer tricks used throughout the demo, and also likely the reason that it doesn't look quite 100% correct on emulators (though PCSX2 does come very close, especially in software mode). Captured over component video via Micomsoft XCapture-1. This demo operates in a 640x200 progressive resolution, so a frame separation method to convert 740x480i30 to 740x240p60 was used, followed by a resize to 720x480 (This is actually the same method I've used to extract 240p60 video game recordings from DVDs in the past). I tried sending YouTube the 720x480 video, and it was quite okay in regards to color conversion, but it didn't take to kindly to the planar pixel format (I think They also tried to deinterlace it again), and the playback was limited to 30 frames per second as well, so I had to convert the colorspace as well as upscale the video to something approximating HD (In this case 1440x960) prior to uploading. This is likely as good as it gets, unless either the emulator authors figure out a way to interpret the framebuffer tricks, or someone designs a piece of hardware that allows us to extract pixel-perfect frames, either to record to file or for display through an interface like HDMI.
