The uploader was acting up, but it is still perfectly legible. Even if you don't play piano, if you can read music, I highly recommend downloading that pdf and following along. So we're back at the piano again with another "pony piano" piece. This piece is a prelude, but in the looser sense of the word as used in the 19th century by the likes of Chopin, Debussy and some other dead white guys. Considering the literal definition of the word, the choice to use it is tastefully ironic, hohoho. It is a spontaneous composition on a theme and an idea and was mostly improvised. That theme is the 11-note little trifle which I most identify with the Cutiemark crusaders. Dressing it up was actually quite a bit of fun and a nice challenge. The idea is a general one: the quest for the cutie mark. The piece paints a non-explicit picture of the usual CMC adventure, full of all of the energy, desperation and randomness that epitomizes this motley crew. The musical theme gets progressively faster, wilder and more aggressive until, with a bit of a muscular bellow in those left hand in octaves, it runs out of steam at the halfway point. Alas, no cutiemarks are earned in this tale. But tomorrow is another day. Credit to the artists will be right here...once I find all their names! Ahh! Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy "Prelude to a Cutie Mark."
