I never liked the idea that the Pegasus Device was just a fancy meat grinder that spat out the coat color of the pony thrown in.

I felt like it needed to have a lot more spectacle, given it's made by the pegasi, and it needed to feel a lot more terrifying. Held in place by mechanical arms, the filly's total magical essence is extracted and collected in the least wasteful way possible.

Not that I condone the murder of innocent kiddos, this is for the Dashed Rainbow animation.
