So my best friend left on his two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-day Saints. When we graduated I never imagined how fast time would pass by. It seemed like his mission was in the very distant future. To some it may not seem like a big deal - that two years isn't all that long. But whoever thinks that... you're wrong. We spent A LOT of time together and now that he's gone it honestly feels like a part of me is missing. I'm glad that I feel that way because it just means we have a real friendship. I've made at least a million mistakes but no matter what he treats me like family. I am truly grateful for being his friend. I look forward to writing a special monthly song for him, and not only will it be a place to put my feelings but because I don't usually write music without lyrics, this will be a great opportunity for me to get better. I hope this song can convey how much his friends and family all miss him. It certainly wasn't easy for me to say goodbye but I know that this is what he wants to do and I'm sure he'll have a blast learning a new language and living in a different culture. This is the first of 24 songs to be made for him, 12 of them will placed into an album titled "Year One", and the next 12 will be in "Year Two". I'll put out the monthly song the 5th of every month, so stay tuned 'cause it's going to be great. Lastly, thanks for making it this far down in the description :) Oh yeah!! I'm on the left and he's on the right... Enjoy! SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-179089397/m2the3rd-stepping-off Bandcamp: http://m2the3rd.bandcamp.com/track/stepping-off
