"A Winter Day in Equestria" was one of the first pieces I wrote for a large orchestra (not a certain one, just the instrumentation) after finishing my longest piece yet, "Music Is Magic". Composed in late 2014 it also was the first "holiday special" I ever created, so I think it is pretty fitting that I use the remastered version of it as the first piece for my musical advent calendar.

Follow me on a journey through different aspects of said winter day, from the first snow falling while the sun rises to children (or rather foals, since it is based on "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" after all) playing in the snow and the elderly staying inside near the fireplace. Even if you are not at all familiar with the MLP series, just substitute the ponies for humans and it should work the same!
