Read the description for more information! An important point in my "carreer" as a composer was the purchase of a notation software that was able to work with more than eight instruments at the same time. When a big shop for musical instruments and equipment in a town near my place moved into a newly-built complex in 2011, they gave away the notation software "Finale 2011" for about a quarter of its usual price. I took the opportunity and suddenly was able to create music without any restrictions in length and instrumentation. (More or less, actually - "Music Is Magic" managed to break the playback feature when it go over 1,000 bars of music, even after I upgraded to Finale 2014 later.) For the first time I now was able to write music for a full orchestra and listen to it with something better than standard MIDI sounds. The "Symphony Nr. 1 in B-flat major" (I always have to watch out so much when talking about keys in English since the English "B major" is not "B-Dur" in German but "H-Dur", while "B-Dur" ist "B-flat major"!) was one of the first results of that change, although the second movement (you'll see it tomorrow) originally was meant as the first one... More on that tomorrow.
