For the third movement of my symphony I decided to write a kind of round (or canon) by establishing an eight-bar harmonic pattern and then adding melodies onto it. You likely will not be surprised to hear that Pachelbel's famous Canon in D major heavily inspired this piece.
Creating melodies that work together surely got harder and harder the longer the piece became, resulting in quite a number of voice leading rule violations.
Sadly there is no fourth movement for me to show you tomorrow - that one never got even close to being finished.
