After having mentioned Pokémon for my last two video I am now going to talk about a live-action role play event based on the franchise - the "Grugapark Pokéliga" or "Grugaliga" for short.
In 2015 a group of Pokémon enthusiasts from all over Germany set up an event that was trying to recreate the Pokémon video games in real life - traveling through a region, fighting gym leaders and other trainers, and finally becoming the very best like no one ever was. The "region" they chose was the "Grugapark", a huge park in Essen, one of the big cities forming the Ruhrgebiet metropolitan area. By lucky accident I amanged to become a part of said event and playing the role of an annoying Non-Player Character who is just standing in your way and slowing you down. (Okay, I was also giving away berries.)
In the following years the Grugaliga was repeated and became a larger event every year. Eventually I started writing music for the event, and the one you are getting today is the title theme that is still being used for the livestream events that were created to bridge the time until the next Grugaliga (2020 and 2021 it had to be called off due to the Coronavirus pandemic).
