In case you haven't figured it out by now, Applejack is my favorite pony.  Throughout the show she has proved to be such a good friend, a shoulder to cry on, a rock to lean on, someone loyal you can always talk to who'll stand by you to the end.  She deserves way more credit than she gets.  Get a box of tissues, because this is a song about a conversation she has with her recently deceased father...
