Academy is a song about Dash going through the toughness and pain of being in the Wonderbolt Academy and pushing herself all the way to become the very best, like no one eve- whoops, wrong fandom.

But anyway, I wanted to capture that emotion in this part. The first two-thirds is basically showing the intensity of the training in the academy. Also Shapes. Then the last third showing how those experiences have affected Dash in her dreams of becoming a Wonderbolt.
