Meet a wizard? Murder. It's no wonder that the fine for killing someone is only a thousand gold. In this case Kaybe meets the daedric prince Boethia, who'd like to kill one of her own servants. Kaybe is expected to follow orders, but only because Kaybe willfully wants to for a reward, and not because Kaybe is being subjugated. A lot of the daedric spheres of influence are a bit muddled like that.
