I've been seeing a lot of a recent controversy on the various sites and forums I visit, with a lot of ugliness on all sides. More than anything, GamerGate appears to be a case of mob vigilantism gone awry, followed by a spate of ideological clashing and click-bait news articles designed to jerk vitriolic responses out of people.

Don't worry - I know the details of the debate, but I'm not using this video to pick a side. I just thought it was worth commenting on from as neutral of a perspective as I could muster, because all I can see in the whole conflict is people acting in the classic fashion we're sometimes known to behave. There is no evil here by averages - we're just very social, very clever apes who can sometimes be defeated by our own abilities to over-think.
