I mention some copyright stuff in this video, and unfortunately, these problems just never end with Youtube. I don't know what to say, but it is legitimate corruption in the system and a lot of things that are wrong aren't what you'd call "slippery slopes". They're downright founded fears that put everyone on Youtube at risk because the abuses really do occur, and regularly so.

When I tell you to drop your Nintendo titles, I'm serious. Youtube does a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff with their copyright claims, and the popular perception is that having any Content ID matched video makes it harder to monetize your work and it makes you more likely to suffer audits. Aside from that, any of those videos becomes a keg of powder. If Nintendo ever decides it's in their best interest to remove the videos they've claimed, it can destroy your whole channel with copyright strikes. It's not good, and you just don't want to take those risks if anything substantial is going on with your Youtube account.
