And so begins our first awkward, lumbering steps into the Legacy of Kain series! Why start with Soul Reaver 2? There's no specific reason why we should, but it was the first of the series I ever played, so it holds a special place for me. The game is flawed and had to rush production, and viewing him from adulthood, Raziel seems even more insecure to me than he did over a decade ago. The memories are lightly dusted, and the nostalgia gives it a polish, but hopefully I can bring some of my love for this game and series to a few other people.

And in fact, I'll do so by re-creating the cutscenes! Partly to avoid legal trouble, but also because I've been thinking about this for months and it's something I really wanted to do.
