I went to go see "Kubo and the Two Strings", and in the end I feel like I ought to recommend it, but I sadly have to do so with the caution that the writing doesn't feel like it's all there where it needs to be. The film was made by studio Laika, who were responsible for "Coraline", and there's a definite amount of animation skill going into the visuals. It's pretty even if it doesn't always hit its mark, and I had a nice time watching it.
