As of now, Steam actually pulled the mod store and it's no longer a thing, but while it was up it was causing pandemonium. Personally, I thought it looked like such an unregulated mess that I wasn't worried about the paywall thing. I was more worried that the thing was going to be drowned in Vietnamese texture-painting sweatshops because the exploitative 25% cut for artists was only going to attract people who can work without love, for pennies. The entire thing was a legal nightmare. I'm not a lawyer, but with as much scamming as was going on and with as tangled as the IP details were, just about every party that got involved might have been game for some kind of lawsuit. For the next video I think I'll do my best to try to explain why I believe that is the case.
