After posting a few Peel Off episodes, I've received some comments regarding the whole "analysis" thing in the pony fandom, and I thought I might talk about it. While I think it's fine as a source of entertainment, as a source of understanding or actual analysis, most of the known people don't offer much outside of subjective conjecture and synopsis. Worse than that, over-analyzing something too much can cause it to completely lose the fun and build up expectations for things that will never materialize. There's plenty of technical things that could be examined, but the way I see it, most fandom "analysis" is pretty limited in possible insight, and due to its low skill requirements, a lot of people have gone into trying it with varying degrees of sanity at their disposal.
