Bringing any aspect of Time Travel into a show must be handled with great care, as it can quickly spiral out of control if you aren't planning your story several steps ahead.  And I think MLP brought an interesting little twist to the Time Travel genre that makes the lesson all the more enjoyable and memorable to watch.
