I literally only finished the song to put the PMV on VHS Download link: https://pony.fm/tracks/41061-pear-butter-cut SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/iron_curtain/pear-butter-cut Stems: https://mega.nz/#!aM5RxQoJ!HTuPlv1z7iA7YJGg4getGA3zjkgOYnRHtjL4k28FY90 This is yet another attempt to try to rip off PinkiePieSwear but I'm also trying to rip off MGMT as well, as you can hear I've achieved neither. I started making this way back in February but everything that I changed about the song made me wanna die, so it just ended up in my endless backlog of unfinished projects until a few weeks ago. I thought it would be cool to experiment with making authentic VCR visuals and that served as my reason to finish the song. After pulling the old VCR out of the basement and ordering a few odd cables and connectors I managed to record off of HDMI into a VHS. With that, after some feedback and suggestions from friends, I finished the song and got to work to a substandard PMV I made in like a day. A few problems sprang up such as not being able to control the system without a remote but I was able to find one for my model on eBay for $10. One painful part of the recording process was having to wait for each recording to finish. Several times I had to clean the internals of the machine to be able to play back my recording. Often the video would get so grainy it was unwatchable, leading to yet another rerecording. That's right, this was the least terrible version of this video not counting the original before I put it on tape. Anyway, for this song I got kinda pretentious. I was trying to make this a predecessor to PinkiePieSwear's "Sunshine and Celery Stalks" since it uses Pear Butter's vocals instead. I used the same structure and even had the same BPM throughout production but I ended up speeding it up a bit. The vocal chops have the same pattern as the ones in PPS' song as well, I marked down and copied the pattern for my chops as shown here: https://i.imgur.com/Ip3tsSW.png . The rest of the production overall was inspired by MGMT's "Kids" because I'm a pleb that only knows like three of their songs from their first album. This song ended up near a more electric-rock style but this late in I was tired of making changes and just finished with what a had. The end result is a song that's not really danceable enough to be played live. But who knows? Perhaps someone will make a killer remix that gets monumentally more views. And that's about it for this song's back story, glad it didn't take two years as predicted. Till the next one. -Iron Curtain p.s. Thanks to AppleBukker and ShobieShy. i wanna die
