So, here's the little "experiment" I mentioned in my previous video. This originated from two songs which I didn't know what to do with - Sweetie Belle, about Sisterhooves Social, and Lucky Mare about Twilight Sparkle in general. None of the two were quite as funny as I had wished, but I liked them anyway. And since I always loved songs that evolve, with several different parts, I decided to paste them together, after changing the chord progressions of Lucky Mare a bit (for continuity), and composing a link between them. ("Has anypony...") These kind of songs are slightly challenging to record and write, but it definitively feels rewarding. I hope you'll enjoy this at least a tenth as much as I enjoyed making it! (I'll try and make something more stupid for my next song, I swear) ---------------------------------------- DOWNLOAD LINK: http://hergestridge.bandcamp.com/track/a-lucky-mare (Name your price, enter zero for free download) -------------------------------------- LYRICS: Sweetie Belle, I love you But don't give me reasons not to Sweetie Belle, my very dear I wish I didn't have, to live with the fear That you will ruin my life Go make some new disaster As far away from me as you can Nothing personal, my love, Just don't do that again Go make some more disaster As far away from me as you wish Nothing personal, my dear, But your sister do you want to please? Has anypony seen the face she wear when she cries? Has anypony seen her struggling for her pride? She's just a grown up filly Who knows when to worry Good thing her friends Know what there is to see Oh what a lucky mare, Finds comfort in her friends Goes around telling ponies What to do with their heads No matter how she feels, Or what she screwed up Somepony's always here for her Oh what a lucky mare If you had done the same You'd find yourself rotting Held in jail Oh what a lucky mare, 'Cause she knows the Princess She and her lovely friends Don't have to care Solely reponsible for Destroying the whole town Making them fight over A stupid doll No matter what she did Or what she screwed up Nopony will ever blame her Oh what a lucky mare If you had done the same You'd find yourself rotting Held in jail Oh what a lucky mare, 'Cause she knows the Princess She and her lovely friends Don't have to care (Repeat chorus)
