Download: https://www.mediafire.com/?v0awg3w6t8nl8bo Lyric video for my song Visibility ft my wife on back up vocals. I started this shortly after the election because no matter what, Trump is president and there's no point in trying to change that. What we CAN do, however, is look out for each other and the best way I know to do that is to be as visible as possible so that those people who think they're struggling alone can see me and draw strength. Every person they see who is LGBT is another possible friend, another person who survived, another person being themselves despite the circumstances. Sometimes that's all people need. The only response to the horrible statements and actions meant to scare us into hiding is to stand up taller in spite. I know you heard it a lot, But let me recap the plot And say there’s lives and rights at risk with what the election hath brought We must act fast, the die cast, Cause we’re all that we’ve got, And if we don’t, we’ll be the victims that our country forgot. Step one visibility Two use your ability Three there’s strength in numbers, So step up willingly One visibility Two use your ability, And embrace responsibility Speak out against each bigotry that comes to light, Lest someone mistakes any wrong for right. And stay in sight, stand out, visually distinct – Don’t let them dare to play pretend that we have gone extinct Make sure they know we’re around and will not be meek, That we’re not some abstract thought about which they can speak With impunity. Wear a symbol of unity, And take a stand for your community. Yes, this makes you a target, so you will have to decide Whether you’ll charge the trench or whether you’ll stand to the side. And there’s no shame to be had if you’re not up for the ride, But I’ll do it for the ones who lack the option to hide. Prevent suicide – for me, that’s the main fight. Fear can kill a kid before a bigot’s in sight. Our country sent a message saying, “You’re on your own,” So we have to let them see they’re not fighting alone. Use your voice, music, talents – whatever’s at your disposal. Use your pain, your fears, your hope, and craft your own proposal Of a world in which the struggles one must face are still worth living. Give those who’re lost and hopeless something to believe in. It is no longer good enough to be an unwilling participant; In the face of hatred your conviction must be militant. And yes I am fully aware of what I ask But we’re up against the ropes and must take them to task. They threaten with conversion. They call us a perversion. And now they can begin to collect on our transgression Of existence. So, please lend your assistance, For if we all must go, it will be with resistance. Show up to the protests that happen in your city. Join and provide support for those in your vicinity. And in the face of unrelenting hostility, Don’t let enmity drive you to anonymity.
