As a special New Year's surprise, here is the long-awaited "Tick Tock's Haunted Hotel" Halloween special. If you follow Midnight Mares on Instagram, chances are you’ve already watched this on IGTV. If you don’t follow Midnight Mares on IG (@midnightmaresseries) there’s no better time than the present. Assuming the YouTube response is as positive as the IGTV likes and comments suggest, Tick Tock’s adventures will continue to be posted exclusively on YouTube.

To be clear, this short feature is not animated, but rather features a live-action story, incorporating a mix of plush toy quasi-puppetry (along with a few special effects) and new cast member voice talents. The voice of "Dogwood Drama" (Laci Morgan) is also pulling double duty delivering Tick Tock's lines, but this casting choice may only be temporary. Since I’m exploring this new storytelling territory, your viewing feedback is greatly encouraged.

"Why have you chosen such an unorthodox approach to the live-action medium?" you may ask. Since animation is very expensive, my current mission is to tell the Midnight Mares story through several mediums (leading up to the animated pilot's premiere) where each one will play an integral role in the overall canon. Again, assuming fans enjoy this brand of toy story-telling, more adventures will follow in the months ahead, and include new character introductions and perhaps even a live-action guest or two.
