Uhhh this one is kinda weird. The project started out as a complete remake of my Majora's Mask Trailer Music that I made back in 2011, but I got so bored of re-creating the midi data (and having it sound sometimes worse than the Finale version) that when the piano part came in, I started going off on a new melody tangent, which became the theme for the song. The motif is actually a descending scale, and it was very difficult to continue that throughout the ENTIRE track but I figured it would be good composition practice, and I made it work. I was so heavily inspired by the composition of Daft Punk's song Touch that I decided to just throw the song into it after the happy section in the middle, and I kept going with it. I actually had a REALLY hard time making this track, each part took a huge chunk of time especially in the beginning, that choir part is actually taken from recordings of Harris Geiger that I had from the Anthem recording. The most difficult part was developing the melodic phrasing of the descending scale, there were lots of times that I wanted to keep going and the resetting of it (usually on an F or a C or C#) was kind of a hidden way of CONSTANTLY keeping that going through the song. This was really difficult because i didn't want it to just drone on and on, so I had to come up with clever ways of hiding the scale in the instrumentation. Lots of times you won't even notice it's there, because I will take it out of the lead spot and hide it in the background. The art is from the movie Kotonoha no Niwa, which i REALLY should get around to watching... I found out about it from an AMV by lolligerjoj called Tan (x), it's how i discovered Touch and I think the track is really powerful.
