Featured on EqD! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/07/spotlight-music-lights-over-canterlot.html I guess that means I have to write a description now... So for the old guys, Hi! Welcome back, glad to see all of you. Sorry I was gone for so long, a lot of stuff was happening. I kept recording a few tunes, though! So I decided to just offload what I had here before the Fall semester started here in Kingsville. Every semester has surprised me with how busy they make me, but I'm hoping to change that. Maybe more content? It'd be nice! To the new guys, Hello! I really hope you guys enjoy your stay. Please feel free to check out my other work, and notice how (predictably) my music gets worse the farther back you go! :) Hope you like it lol. Except maybe not? I wrote this song a long time ago. Before I covered Swing! Tavi Swing! Before I wrote Blue. Before I wrote the MLP Thank You Fund ad music! This is one of my first songs, if not actually the first. I was using GarageBand on the iPad back then, so I went back to clear stuff out of my old iPad and found this tune. I transcribed what I had lost (lyrics and chord changes mostly) and I imported the MIDI file I had into Sonar and got to work. What you see here is old creativity with new production. I hope you guys like it. :) The art here is just a screenshot, so credit to the MLP Team? Thanks! :) Download(Mediafire): https://www.mediafire.com/?4doj8jr5ds9xghu All parts performed/programmed/mixed by myself. Programs: Sonar 8; Kontakt 5; Studio Drummer Effects Gear: Digitech GNX3000, Cakewalk Plugins Lyrics: I open my eyes. And to no one's surprise; I'm still alive. And it's nopony's fault. Same shit different day. And I've got no say. I have to play, Manehatten's waiting on me. One book, One Bow; I've got no where to go. Gotta get outta here... The lights shine bright over Canterlot But I feel there's darkness in my heart. I can't keep up this fantasy, but I've got to play my part. And long after the crowd's gone; I feel this deep disdain To play to my heart's content, to ease it of this pain. I pack my things; But the remnant rings, and the sadness they bring are alive in my head The ivory keys play changes with ease, they call and they tease; but I've got no place with them. One hat, one roll; Now where do I go? Four years wasted... These lights shine bright over Canterlot But I feel there's darkness in my heart. I can't keep up this fantasy, but I've got to play my part. And long after the crowd's gone; I feel this deep disdain To play to my heart's content, to ease it of this pain. I took a wagon, to Manehatten. my heart in hand, my one grand plan They laugh and they scowl, the hum and the howl: Drive me away Drive me away Drive me away The lights shine bright over Canterlot They break the darkness in my heart. I won't keep up that fantasy, I'm going to play my part. But long after the crowd's gone; I feel this deep disdain To play my heart's contents, the soul's one true refrain.
