I think I really got this idea when I heard Eurobeat Brony say this was about a "nondescript" character who got into a similar situation to Luna, and was asking her for her sympathy. I thought that after being imprisoned on the moon for a thousand years, he would be pretty tired and lonely, so I tired to do my best to make the vocals sound weary. The rest of this music is just because it's what I like to play and because it goes well with weary vocals.
