Hey look, a piece of music I wrote for University, time to put my serious face on!

This is called "Compass(ion)" for solo cello. I wrote it in May/June 2011 and it was premiered at the "Old Cello, New Cello" Festival in Perth, Western Australia. This is a recording done recently, as the recording of the premier kind of failed...:P

The piece is in 4 movements:
West
East
North
South

Each movement is fairly brief, but contains a very different soundworld to the others. However, they're all linked by a theme, have a listen and see if you can hear it!
The piece itself was written as an exploration of the instrument and the techniques that can be done.
