My impressions of three iconic interpretations of the Joker character throughout the years. 1. Heath Ledger Perhaps the most famous portrayal of the Joker, Heath Ledger invented a completely original personality to the clown, portraying him as a calculated, yet incredibly destructive killer who claimed to be "ahead of the curve". His portrayal won him a posthumous Oscar. This incarnation aknowledges Batman as his only equal. 2. Mark Hamill Mark Hamill's most famous role aside from Luke Skywalker, Hamill took the reigns at the beginning of Batman The Animated Series, and has voiced him in nearly all animated appearances since then. He has recieved universal acclaim for his perfomances, mainly for his instrumental use of Joker's laugh. His final role came in Arkham City, after which he stepped into a pseudo retirement from voicing The Joker. Hamill has said he would return if Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel would ever released as an animated movie. He officially returned a bit after a year off, to voice Joker in The Last Laugh expansion pack. 3. John Dimaggio (Not really an impression) After Hamill's pseudo retirement, a few people have voiced the Joker in recent years. Almost universally aknowledged to be the best since Hamill, is John Dimaggio's perfomance as the Joker in Batman: Under The Red Hood. Dimaggio's performance is once again original, offering a much darker, drier and sinister version than Hamills. Dimaggio is best known for voicing Bender in Futurama, and Jake the Dog in Adventure Time. I own nothing but my own voice. All credit goes to the original actor for authenticating these perfomances. I mean no harm in creating this video.
