So I imagined Lyra going to her normal bench at the top of tall hill and seeing her home village of Ponyville, the ponies walking, at the market, and greeting each other. Then she looks beyond and sees the great capitol city of Canterlot atop it's cliff, and the large expanse of indigo mountains beyond that are the gateway to all of Equestria. She then writes a song about the the pony species as a whole: Equinity (play on of 'Humanity').
I'd like to think Lyra wrote the harp parts (it's a harp trio), and she worked with Octavia to create the orchestral finale.

I composed most of this on a peaceful summer morning over in the village of Saucitlan De Morelos in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I spent my summer. It's a place where I learned a new way of life and will always have memories of the place.
