The weather was not always calamitous. Some might have called it "nice" out on several occasions. However in exceptional irony for Moondancer & Lightning Dust said "nice" weather worked counter to their reasons for being in the town of Hollow Shades. At first these nice days were spent lounging around their new little house, rearranging or even decorating. But unfortunately for Moondancer, the pegasus had gotten tired of being cooped inside for a weekend. Thankfully it wasn't a one-horse town yet. The establishments of Hollow Shades had already existed as mostly hobbies for their proprietors; services not for profit but to bring in conversations from the others that lived in the town. Even though it's population dwindled the various doors stayed open. It started with simple trips together to the General Store run by an old retired coal mining earth pony. Then they would sometimes grab lunch together at a cafe run by a daughter of the previous owner who herself was the daughter of the previous owner, etcetera unto etcetera. Soon their dinners were trips to the single "restaurant" in town run by a very weird, very thick-accented griffon who would simply bring them different food each night without asking their order. Breakfasts of dry oats & granola became stove-top affairs of eggs or pancakes with one too many cooks in the kitchen. Their times in-between became walks through the forest, gazing at the sky, heartfelt talks & laughter. Some might have called it "love".
