So it may not have been the smartest decision to record this without planning and when dead tired and think "hey, this will work". Oh well lol. Know that this isn't what I would consider "easy". I learned to do this through playing around and practice. I have been asked a few times how I get particles to smoothly loop in my GIFs. This just goes over how I do it, but there is the limitation many will have in terms of programs available. Therefore, not everyone will be able to do it. The method can be used in many other programs that provide the same functionality. I will not be able to help you troubleshoot your issues if you use such, though. *For those wanting a written explanation*: I render the looped animation so that it contains at least 2, but I always prefer 3, loops in a row. If the loop is 5 seconds, I will render 10 or 15 seconds. In Photoshop, I will separate the loops into pieces: let's call them Part A and Part B. Part B is the part of the loop you want to focus on, but by itself, the particles effects in use jump when restarted. You then take advantage of the fact that Part A transitions into Part B smoothly. Part A is placed on the layer above Part B and made to be completely invisible (zero opacity). A keyframe is placed at the center of Part A (or any other placement that seems to work) and a second at the end of Part A. The last keyframe will have the opacity turned back up to maximum. This will have Part A fade in over Part B until it is completely visible on the last frame. The transition will be smooth. How long this fade in range is dependent on the GIF. Having it too long can cause ghostly particles and having it too short can make the shift still noticeable. It takes playing.
