I began writing this after a friend told me about her schizophrenia. I was trying to imagine what it would sound like to be in her head, but the final product developed into something completely different, more about my own insecurity and anxiety than hers.  

The song was more than halfway completed in 2013. The only part that was missing was what came after the massive buildup in the first minute. There must have been at least five different versions of the track each with less-than-satisfactory drops. The answer came to me in the shower. This song is about paranoia, a constant fear of disaster that never comes. I deliberately made the drop rather disappointing, so the huge drop that the listener might expect just doesn't happen.
