The first season of My Little Pony: FiM ran 26 episodes in length. It aired from October 10, 2010 to May 6, 2011. Each episode told a distinctly different story with its cast of colorful characters. Its concepts were concrete and well presented, but it wasn't satisfied with being simply what it needed to be. It strived to be better than that, and we, as a fandom, have a lot to thank Friendship is Magic for. Everyone appreciates FiM's humble beginnings in their own way, and this is my tribute to the start of what would lead to be the rest of my life. The goal of this mix, to elaborate further, is to simultaneously showcase both the first season of mlpfim and the best of the dubstep scene from 2010-2011. When I craft these musical showcases, I always work the most effectively with handicaps. Whether that means working with a track selection that isn't even my own, or only featuring music from a specific source, this has consistently proven to result in my best works. This mix, though, was an especially challenging task. I had to choose one song to represent, in someway, each of season 1's episodes. In some cases my selection was based on the title of the song itself, in other cases I felt a sort of atmospheric connection between the song and episode, and sometimes I just featured a song because it was such an important piece to this era of dubstep. After narrowing down a selection, I then had to further eliminate songs so that I'd be able to play my tracklist in order from the first episode of the season to the last, still striving to present a seamless flow of dubstep without any drastic mood changes or rhythmic hiccups. On top of these restrictions, I chose to only feature music released in the 7-month timeframe of season 1's airing, for a more authentic experience. This was a trying time for dubstep, as its recently realized form as a harder hitting dancefloor genre was spreading at a rapid rate. Thousands of producers hopped on the bandwagon, failing to understand the fundamentals of the genre and simply releasing mere imitations of what good dubstep should be. It was a quantity over quality era, and there was a lot of forgettable and uninspired content to sift through when crafting a 26-piece collection that truly stands the test of time in such a constantly transforming genre. There's a reason artists like Flux Pavilion, Datsik, and SKisM are often labelled as the grandfathers of dubstep as we know it today. The original plan for this mix was to have an accompanying video and vocal samples and stuff integrated into the mix, but oh well tl;dr, this took a long time to make and, as usual, I hope you like it TRACKLST ------ 00:00 - Document One - Forgive Me 01:55 - Skrillex - KILL EVERYBODY (Bare Noize Remix) 03:44 - Torqux & Twist - Go Away 04:53 - Crissy Criss & Youngman - Kick Snare (Dubstep VIP) 06:00 - Roksonix - Just Jokes 07:19 - NERO - Guilt 08:41 - Doctor P - Big Boss 10:03 - J.Rabbit & Tremourz - Sexy Party 11:25 - SKisM - Elixir 12:48 - Antiserum - The Swarm 14:37 - Black Sun Empire & SPL - Wasteland 16:07 - Bassnectar - Underwater (feat.
